» Walla Visa?
INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN
Visa has become part of everyday life in Egypt. In small shops across the country, vendors do not ask “Cash or card?” They simply ask “Cash walla Visa?” The phrase is so familiar that “Visa” has become shorthand for all card payments.
Yet behind this cultural habit, thousands of small shopkeepers were struggling for visibility and growth, especially during Egypt’s difficult economic period.
Visa saw an opportunity to turn this daily behavior into a force for good. Vendors had been promoting Visa for years without realizing it. So the brand created “Walla Visa?” as a program that finally returns value to them, transforming a simple checkout question into advertising support for small businesses across the nation.

» The Idea
We installed voice-activated devices inside participating stores that detected the word “Visa” every time a customer asked “Cash walla Visa?” Each mention was verified by a payment terminal sound within sixty seconds. Once verified, these mentions were collected and converted into media credits.
The credits were then used to give each shop its own sponsored ads. For the first time, vendors who had been promoting Visa for years received real advertising for their own businesses.
Toy stores, barbershops, coffee shops, clothing stores, mini marts, and many more local shops saw a boost in visibility. The program supported business owners during a challenging time and strengthened Visa’s presence in Egyptian culture by acting as a genuine partner to the community.
